Magnolia Meadery

TASTING ROOM

Signature Meads

Honeybees must visit over 2 million flowers to produce one pound of honey. Each one of our signature meads contains over a half pound of honey. Thus, over a million flowers have to be visited by honeybees to produce each bottle below. Our signature meads are offered year-round.

Traditional Dry Mead

This is our take on the original classic mead. Just honey, water, and yeast. Nothing else added. This is a great mead to introduce yourself to the taste of mead and to our meadery. It represents a canvas of what mead can “bee”. The wildflower honey used gives the mead a bright, clean taste and smell. The alcohol provides a mild tartness. Experience history and drink the first beverage cultivated throughout history from Ancient Ethiopia, to Ancient Egypt, to Ancient China, and Medieval Europe.

Pairing recommendations: Buttered Bread, Cheeses (Savory, Salty, Creamy), Sweets and Fruit

Emerald meadows

The alchemy of mead surprises us yet again. Green tea and lemongrass harmonizing during fermentation to deliver a truly distinguished profile that redefines what a mild mead can be. The green tea gently mellows the honey base, dialing back sweetness to let delicate, earthy tannins and pleasantly bitter tea notes emerge. Lemongrass introduces a subtle, creamy mouthfeel alongside a zesty citrus lift. Highlighted by delicate floral aromas from a mix of two different honeys, Emerald Meadows offers a smooth, refreshing landscape for both white wine enthusiasts and adventurous mixologists looking to build exceptional cocktails.

Pairing recommendations: Matcha-Based Foods, Fish, Florals, Ginger

The Yosh

Named in honor of a dear friend lost too soon, The Yosh stands as both a personal homage, a fan favorite, and the owner’s top pick. Built upon a wildflower honey base infused with a selection of distinct roots, botanicals, and toasted oak, this mead delivers a remarkably complex and earthy profile. The aroma and taste is an inviting bouquet that evokes the rich, oaky depth of fine red wines and the gentle smokiness of artisanal bourbons. Despite its wine-strength presence, the absence of heavy tannins allows for a delightfully smooth, light-bodied sipping experience. It is a brilliant bridge for whiskey and scotch enthusiasts.

Pairing recommendations: Beef, Lamb, Spicy Peppers, Black Pepper, Savory and Salty Cheeses, Roast Vegetables

Orange Blossom Mead

Pure citrus decadence in a glass. Crafted by placing beehives directly into blooming citrus groves, the bees capture the delicate essence of orange blossoms, infusing every drop of honey with a natural floral bright tang. This mead is orange blossom honey concentrated and personified—a liquid dream that surrounds you with fragrant floral aromas on every inhale and wraps your palate in sweet gold and delicate citrus zest on every sip. Smooth, luxurious, and delightfully distracting. A rich yet refreshing experience that proves just how enchanting a single-varietal honey mead can be.

Pairing recommendations: Duck, Poultry, Fish, Nuts, Desserts and Fruit

Black and Gold Bumble

There’s an old campfire saying that “smoke follows beauty.” While we can’t speak for people, it is undoubtedly true for this mead. Dedicated to our hometown team, Black and Gold Bumble bridges dark, robust honeys and bourbon-barrel oak (“Black”) with bright, floral honeys (“Gold”) to deliver a truly singular profile. Steeped with black tea herbs and lingering campfire smoke, its familiar bourbon and whiskey aromatics open into a surprising harmony with the mead’s natural finish. Equal parts cozy campfire sipper and sophisticated mixological tool, it flows effortlessly from a savory entrée pairing to a sweet digestif.

Pairing recommendations: Red meat, seafood, cheeses, cigars, campfire, and an armchair
