Our Story

hobby meets opportunity: a new business brews!

Phil, Magnolia Meadery’s owner and brewmaster, began fermenting MEAD in early 2019. He started with one 6 gallon fermenter. During the 2020 lockdown, brewing grew into an obsession for Phil. Investing in more equipment, he started bottling, aging, and sharing with friends. The enthusiastic responses convinced Phil to keep going. He expanded into catering weddings and social gatherings. Along with tons of compliments, he began to have people who wanted to invest. With this support, he was convinced to start a MEADERY. He chose to base the theme of the MEADERY on his native city of New Orleans with a goal of contributing a unique beverage to the identity of the city and a unique spirit to the rest of the world.

Magnolia's Ingredients: Best Quality, Bee Approved

We pride ourselves in our product, using only the freshest ingredients and the best honey. Our honey is pure and unpasteurized, not cut with sugar (a practice found with other meaderies). We source our honey from farms we know and respect that span from local farmers in the South to the Amish in Pennsylvania.

Phillip Floyd

Besides from long walks on the beaches, Phillip’s hobbies include climbing, ultimate frisbee, hot yoga, and reading. He is a Christian, actuary, landlord, and a Class A CDL driver.

Michael Floyd

COO

The man stimulating the man with the million dollar plan, Michael rocks the hard entrepreneurial spirit and makes sure the business is legitimate. Statistician. Entrepreneur. Teacher. Counselor. Friend. Executive. A true Consigliere in heart.
